Fasting Buddies — Privacy Policy

This policy describes the personal data processed by the Fasting Buddies mobile app, published by Applation OÜ, Narva mnt 5, 10117 Tallinn, Estonia (registry code 17599165). It sits alongside our company privacy policy, which covers your rights in full.

1. Data we process

Health data. Information about your fasting schedule can reveal something about your health, so we treat it as a special category of data under Article 9 GDPR and process it only on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you create an account. It is never used for advertising and never sold.
Fasting Buddies does not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos library, or advertising identifiers.
2. What other people can see
Fasting Buddies is social by design. When you join a group, other members of that group can see your display name, avatar, fasting streak and points, and anything you post in the group. Think of that content as shared rather than private. You can leave a group at any time; historic messages you posted may remain visible to that group unless you delete them.
3. Who processes data for us
- Cloud hosting, database and authentication — stores your account and activity data.
- Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging — deliver notifications to your device.
- Crash reporting — receives diagnostic reports when the app fails.
- Apple and Google — process any purchases as merchant of record, under their own privacy policies.
Each processor is bound by an Article 28 data processing agreement. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertising networks.
4. Retention
Your data is kept while your account is active. Delete your account and we remove or irreversibly anonymise it within 30 days; encrypted backups rotate out within a further 90 days. Aggregate statistics that can no longer identify you may be retained.
5. Deleting your account and data
You can delete everything in two ways:
- In the app — Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- On the web — use our account deletion page, no installation needed.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, restrict, object to or erase your data, and withdraw consent at any time. See our company privacy policy for the full description and for how to complain to a supervisory authority.
7. Children
Fasting Buddies is not intended for anyone under 16. Fasting is not appropriate for children and adolescents without medical supervision.
8. Not medical advice
Fasting Buddies is a habit and motivation tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Speak to a healthcare professional before changing your eating pattern — especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, take prescribed medication, or have any history of disordered eating.
